West Bengal 2026
Figures as of 28 February 2026, when the final roll was published.
Method
What is counted
The state's revision
The Chief Electoral Officer's press note PN-05-2026 gives the roll of 27 October 2025, the names left off the draft by reason, the claims and objections, the names held back for adjudication, and the final roll of 28 February 2026. Every one of those figures is for the state as a whole. The press note's figures add up step by step, and the women and men on the roll before the revision, set against the draft roll by sex, give the share of women among the names left off.
Why the constituencies are compared with 2024
No table of the names removed by district or constituency has been published by the Chief Electoral Officer or the Election Commission. What is published for all 294 constituencies, by sex, is three rolls. They are the roll at the 2024 Lok Sabha nominations, the draft roll of 16 December 2025, and the roll at the 2026 Assembly nominations. The roll of October 2025, the one the revision started from, is published for the state only, and it was larger than the 2024 roll.
So the constituency pages measure the fall in the roll from 2024. That fall includes the revision, the names held back for adjudication and those not restored, and also eighteen months of ordinary additions and deletions before the revision began. It is never called the removals on these pages. Because the roll grew between 2024 and October 2025, the fall from 2024 is smaller than the fall from the roll the revision started from, by about across the state.
Districts
The district of each constituency is the Chief Electoral Officer's, as printed on the draft roll. District figures are the sums of their constituencies.
The 2026 result
Winner, runner-up and margin for every seat are from the Election Commission's constituency result pages, checked against its state-wise pages. Falta's figures are from its re-poll. Turnout is votes over the roll at the nominations.
Checks
Every roll adds up to the total printed with it. Polling stations barely changed between the 2024 roll and the draft, so the build also fails if any seat's polling stations or roll move in a way that would mean a row was read against the wrong seat.
The map
Constituency boundaries are from DataMeet's assembly constituency map, licensed CC BY 2.5 India, and are simplified for the web. They are the boundaries of the 2008 delimitation, which this roll uses.
Against the district
The rolls of Kolkata North and Kolkata South shrank far more than any other district's, and the parties did not win evenly across districts. So each seat's fall per 100 is also set against the fall of its own district, and those differences are averaged for each party's seats on the elections page.
What these tables cannot show
- How many names were removed in each district or constituency, or on what recorded reason.
- Where the names held back for adjudication were, or how many of them were found eligible in each district or constituency. No table of these by district from the Commission itself has been found.
- Whether each removal was right. A reason on the list is what the officer wrote down, and nobody checked it.
- How anyone missing from the roll would have voted.
