Find a district
Type a district's name and its figures appear below with a link you can send. The revision's figures were published by district only, so this page has no assembly constituencies to find.
Each district is shaded by the names left off its draft roll for every 100 electors on its roll of 27 October 2025, the roll the revision started from. Tap a district for its figures. District boundaries drawn from DataMeet's assembly constituency map (CC BY 2.5 India), simplified, with each constituency placed in its district as the 2022 election results list it.
The roll, step by step
The revision started from the roll of 27 October 2025. The draft roll is the list published once the enumeration forms were collected, and a name whose form did not come back was left off it. Names were then added and deleted on claims and objections, and the result is the final roll of 10 April 2026. The chart follows the state's roll through those steps. The bars start above zero so that the changes can be seen.
When it happened
The Commission set Uttar Pradesh's dates three times, and the revision then ran later than any of them. Each line is one schedule, from the first house visits to the final roll. The last line is the revision as it was carried out, from the Chief Electoral Officer's own account of 13 April 2026.
Every state's dates, as they were set and as they were moved, are drawn side by side on How the revision was run.
The draft against earlier rolls
The size of each roll for every 100 people aged 18 and over in Uttar Pradesh, as projected for 1 March 2026 by the National Commission on Population. The projection counts residents, so people who live in another state and vote here are not in it.
Per 100 electors, by district
The names left off each district's draft roll, for every 100 electors on its roll of 27 October 2025. Counting per 100 electors puts large and small districts on one scale. A rate of 20 per 100 means one elector in five was left off. The district figures are from the table of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), who keeps the state's rolls for the Election Commission, as published in the press.
Towns and villages
The Chief Electoral Officer gave the press the roll before the revision and the draft for the state's urban and rural areas, each rounded to the lakh. They are set beside each other here, with the same comparison by district, where a district counts as urban when more than half its people lived in towns at the 2011 Census.
Against the 2022 winning margins
No figure by assembly constituency has been published. So each district's names left off are spread over its constituencies in proportion to their electors in the 2022 Assembly election, and set against each seat's 2022 winning margin. That shows how many seats the removals were large enough to decide. It cannot show which seats, because the real count in a constituency can sit well above or below its district's rate, and it cannot show that any result would have changed. Each dot is one constituency. A dot above the line had more names left off on this spread than its winning margin.
The same seats one by one. Each dot is a constituency, placed by its 2022 margin and by the names left off on the spread.
The 2022 results are the Election Commission's statistical report. The NDA is the BJP, Apna Dal (Soneylal) and the NISHAD party, and the SP's alliance is the SP, the RLD and the SBSP, as they contested in 2022. Every constituency's spread figure is in the download at the foot of this page.
The reasons
Every name left off the draft has one of five reasons entered against it. The chart runs from the five reasons on the left to the districts on the right, with the five districts that left off the most names shown on their own and every other district together. A reason is what the officer wrote down, and nobody checked it.
The same reasons district by district. Each dot is one district, placed at the share of its names left off that were entered under that reason. The five districts that left off the most per 100 electors are in red. Hover or tap a dot for its name.
Districts that left off more names entered more of them as untraceable or absent. Each dot is one district, placed by its rate and by the share of its names left off that were entered as untraceable or absent.
District circumstances
A rank correlation between each district's rate and a circumstance of the district, from the National Family Health Survey of 2019-21 and the 2011 Census. It runs from -1 to 1, and 0 means no relationship. With 75 districts, a correlation has to be larger than about 0.23 either way before it is clear of chance. These circumstances move together, so none of them can be named as a cause.
The same comparison for eleven other states is on District factors, and the urban comparison on Urban and rural.
Women
The Chief Electoral Officer gave the press the names left off by sex, rounded to the lakh. Adding them to the draft roll by sex gives the roll before the revision by sex, and so a rate for women and for men.
After the draft
Electors kept on the draft roll were sent a notice when their form could not be linked to the roll of 2003 or when the Commission's software found a discrepancy in it, and were heard by an assistant registration officer. Names were then added on Form 6 claims and removed on Form 7 objections and after the hearings. Every figure here is the Chief Electoral Officer's, as the press reported it.
