Removals and the 2026 election

Names removed against the winning margin

Each dot is a constituency. Across, the names left off the draft roll; up, the 2026 winning margin in votes. Dots below the line are seats where more names were removed than the winner won by. Colour shows the party that won.

How many seats, on each count

Three ways of setting the removals against the margin, from the widest to the narrowest. The first counts every name left off the draft. The second counts the fall that remains on the final roll. The third leaves out the names marked dead and counts the rest at the seat's own 2026 turnout.

Removals by the party that won

Every seat, by the party that won it

Each dot is a constituency, placed by the names removed for every 100 electors. Chennai's sixteen seats are in red. Hover or tap a dot for its name.

Names removed per 100 electors in the seats each party won in 2026. The last column sets each seat against the rate of its own district and averages the difference, so that a party is not credited with the city simply for winning there. A minus means fewer removals than the district as a whole.
